Idioms and Phrases

Once a little bird
Told me that if ever
I have a bad hair day
My chin I should keep up.

Now i always have known
That practice makes perfect
Even though i never got the chance
As i was forever on cloud nine.

Until one day
When on my daily grind
Of chasing tail
An act of God
Shook the ground
On which i was found.

As a result
I stumbled and fell
And could no longer tell
Where to my chase had gone.

Standing in limbo
I did not know
Exactly where to go
And stood into tomorrow.

Till a Good Samaritan
In his shining armor rode by
And gave me a penny for my thoughts
Which i then used to buy some time.

Well it turns out
He was up against the clock
To get back to his place of work.

So i watched him walk away
When lightning struck in fury
And added insult to injury
By striking this good guy.

With my head down
I took a deep sigh
And looked towards the sky.
Alas. Practice day is nigh!

I avoid looking forward or backward, and try to keep looking upward.
