Here’s to this deep poem that seeks to put me to sleep
Just so I can take a peep, at the people in my past
Who’s hearts have turned to dust and sadly must
March on only in my melancholic memories.

Above the Noise

The dark embraces me
Feeding me the food of dreams
My sweet sleep mother

Lights and faces swirl
Building such brief delusions
Then letting them go

Then the ride begins
Swooping through my past mistakes
People forgotten

Soaring to the stars
Seeing what doesn’t matter
The smallness of life

A time of nothing
Held tight in bonds of darkness
Swaddling comfort

I feel my breathing
The tripping of my heartbeat
Nearness of my soul

Just as much this life
All the waking hours must match
Love I feel asleep
