A Letter To My Unborn Daughter

Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.

Dalai Lama

My dear darling daughter, do not be alarmed for this is your father and I’m very happy you’re reading this.

I can imagine how angry you are with me for not being there in your baby years, I’d like to enlighten you that I didn’t abandon you, it’s just that I’m needed in heaven to help the angels defeat the devil.

If you can read this then you must be a big girl now. How I wish I could’ve been there to raise you. But I see from up here how well your mother raised you. Please thank her for me.

You’re probably pondering why I penned this letter? It was not simply because I desired to connect with you, my dear darling daughter, nor because I wanted to immortalize my love for you in these lines; but mainly because I’d like to bestow my fatherly advice upon you, my dear darling daughter, hoping you’d take an old man’s words to heart and from it not let them depart.

The first golden nugget of advice I’m giving you, not because it’s most important but because it’s most significant, is that you should follow your heart and do what you love. Your heart is a compass and it will not lead you astray. If you follow your heart I can guarantee you’ll be happy.

Thinking before you act is the second gold coin of counsel I’ll be departing with for your sake. If your heart is the compass that knows the way, then your mind is that which walks the way. It’s no use knowing where to go if you can’t get there. Don’t just rush into the jungle if you’re not prepared to meet the lion. Desire and feelings are nothing without action, but action is nothing without desire and feeling. Your heart and mind should be in harmony like rhyming poetry. Only then will you experience the beauty that is being happy.

Thirdly, don’t neglect your body or your mind. Exercise them both by doing things that stimulate them for the better.

Fourthly, if you ever want to get to where you’re going, then you’ll need to be a quantum dreamer as well as a big believer in yourself. The world will try to knock you down, but do not let it. Society will try to make you frown, but I implore you to not let it. The day you do is the day you destroy your dreams.

If it so happens that you don’t take any of the aforementioned advice, then I won’t really mind, so long as you please, please do listen to this piece of warning: Beware of shy boys and don’t listen to Cardi B’s music.

There you have it, my dear darling daughter, it was a pleasure writing to you, may you live joyously and carefree, confident in the knowledge that I’ll be personally watching over you.

A letter to you, from me

Hi there, stranger–because you do not know, me, even though you are, me, and I am you–I trust you are not in danger.

And hope that you are well, I just wanted to tell, you that hell, is always knocking, at your door, but that heaven is always in your reach. You just have to stretch, your heart, and your mind, to their limitless potential.

I know you don’t know me–for you have never met me, you and I are strangers, even though I am you, and you are me–so you must be wondering who I am, to tell you that heaven is always within, your reach and that hell is constantly knocking on your door?

I am no spiritual sage, if my age of just twenty-three years doesn’t tell you that, then let me tell you I am simply a student, of life, who likes to learn, and live, life to the best of his ability.

I am not a success sensei, in fact, I’m studying at the local university in the city, but I’m not paying for my own tuition fee. I haven’t written any books, on self-development, nor have I any degrees.

I am not a philosopher, you will definitely find many flaws, in my reasoning and thinking.

I am only twenty-three years young, and counting, to my tomb I don’t know, when the clock will stop ticking. But as long as I am breathing, I try to live life to the best of my ability, but like every ordinary person I am not perfect, I have made many, many, many mistakes, and I am sure the numbers will keep increasing, but as long as the number of my learning is not decreasing, I am happy, to make as many, many, many mistakes, as it takes, to gain mastery, of this thing we call reality.

Since I am no spiritual sage, success sensei, or philosopher, I’m just a stranger–even though you are me, and I am you–so you have no reason to believe my words.

It’s entirely up to you, to choose whether you will learn from the mistakes of a simple guy, who is lucky enough to have discovered his passion for poetry and language, and his love, for humanity, and all the beauty life has to offer.

A guy who loves you–for you are me, and I am you–and whose dream it is that you are living in a state of bliss which can never be dismissed.

A guy, who has been blessed with a brilliant mind and has learned, he is, a spiritual being, experiencing reality in human form.

I haven’t always been like this.

In fact there was a time not so long ago when I refused to learn the lessons life was teaching me.

A time of suffering, when my mind and my heart where in disharmony.

I like me better right now–and I’m sure you do too, because you are me, and I am you–so I am extremely grateful, for the many, many mistakes I’ve made, for they have led me to an appreciation for this gift, of life, presented to me, every single day, by the Most High.

I have aligned myself with the Gods, and the destiny they set in prophecy for me: to create my dreams, and to stare my nightmares in the face, and dare them to do their worst.

Perhaps I’ve read way too many books?

Mayhaps I’ve smoked way too many Marijuana joints?
Perhaps I’m just too high off life?
Maybe? My habits are getting the better of me?
Perhaps? I’m just deluding myself?

You have no reason to believe me. But I’ll tell you anyways–If you don’t already know–that you too have a magnetic mind that is geared towards attracting abundance and all that’s good for you, and repeling resistance and everything that is bad for you.

Unfortunately, we live in a society that does everything it can, to control our minds, and to use it to attract huge profits for itself.

The society we’ve been bred in has programmed us to act in a reactive manner,
Always focusing on repelling perceived nightmares, it has taken away our power to be proactive in attracting our dreams.

The good thing, however, is that you, my dear, stranger–even though I am you, and you are me–have, at any moment in time, the choice to take back your power of magnetism towards optimism.

If you are still with me, thank you for sticking by. I know this is an unusually long letter, I never intended it to be so. But I’ll go with the flow–because I believe God is speaking to you, through me, right now–
and he wants you to know that your heart will show you the way to heaven, and your mind will help make, the way that gets you here.

You just have to–like a poet–make the desires of your mind rhyme with the feelings of your heart.

I know, by experience it’s not easy to listen to your heart, nor to command your mind, for we live in a world filled with so much noise that it’s hard to hear the voice of God speaking, to you.

Yes, it’s not easy tuning into the intuitive powers of your heart, and the creative power of your mind. But know, this is a good thing, for it will be more fulfilling, once you have learned, to master the power God has trusted you with.

I’m sure you know that with great power comes great responsibility, so don’t be scared of your duty, to create your ideal reality.

This is indeed an unusually long letter, but rest assured it is about to come to an end.

But before I conclude I wanted to impress upon you the message that even though hell is constantly trying to knock down the door of your well-being, heaven, the haven of happiness is always within, your reach. No, you don’t have to die, a saint. You just have to reach out, and grab it by the balls.

All you have to do is follow the passions of your heart, the things which inspire you to make art; and to use your mind to find the resources which will help you on your journey towards reaching heaven.

In befriending your mind and heart, be not scared to make mistakes, for your success is not at stake. It was already written in the stars.

Just be brave, in facing life’s lessons, with the confidence that you will learn, and eventually graduate as cum laude from the suffering of hell.

In conclusion, this is not a get rich quick potion, nor is it an easy solution to the situation you find yourself in.

It is not an attempt to teach any moral lessons or brag about the fact that I have found heaven, because hell is always knocking at my door.

Instead, it is a symbol of my love for you–because you are me, and I am you–in which I try to inspire that fire within you, to burn, with a desire which will make you aspire to reach, ever higher, and higher for your goals.

This is simply my way of telling you that you don’t have to be a spiritual guru from India to reap the benefits of being in heaven.

In fact, the Gods have already blessed you with the power, to reach out and grab heaven by the balls. For you are needed here.

Yours in love and kindness
Lazarus
