Walking in nature

All you need is the plan, the road map, and the courage to press on to your destination.

Earl Nightingale

Don’t you just love it
when you’re walking, out in nature
And you begin to feel the breeze
blowing on your skin, cooling you down.
And you hear the sounds of singing birds
making you feel at ease.

Doesn’t it just bring you bliss
when each tree you see
is dancing with glee
and the flowers you smell
are all flourishing well.

It brings me joy
walking the path of life
for I get to taste the wonders
abundant in the universe.

Oh! Environment

Make the most of yourself, for that is all there is of you.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Oh! environment
please cry, cry, cry
let tears fall from your eyes
so everyone can hear your cries
please cry, cry, cry
and don’t dry your eyes.

Let everyone see your tears
so they’ll know that you have fears.

Help me keep the blog running

In Nature

When I dare to be powerful – to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.

Audre Lorde

Out in nature
a breeze blows
and the grass bends
into the direction of the wind.

All the tall trees
start to sway
from side to side.

Whilst the birds on their tops
take to the sky, in flocks that fly
up to summit the clouds.

Songbird Singing a Sad Song

Your attention is the most important asset you have. Be deliberate with it.

Zat Rana

What can stop thee from singing your glad song?
And inspire you to start singing a sad one?
Oh! songbird who up in the sky does belong
And shouldn’t be all alone looking so down.

I have been perched for many a morning
On a tall tree watching many a human
And have seen so much suffering transpiring
As such, on my face there is a pained frown.

Because whilst perched for many a morning
On that tree i have seen forests laid to ruin
By humans that are “Development” quoting
Destroying the nests and eggs of my brethren.

Many know that what is being done is wrong
But some simply don’t care, they have so much fun
Displaying their power, by destroying what is strong
Although they know the earth will be undone

And so, this laying waste to mother nature
Is what has stopped me from singing a glad song
And inspired me to start singing a sad one.

Only the Moon

You have to be lucky to be successful, but luck can be engineered

Zat Rana

When the sun sinks
and darkness descends
upon the land
no stars will light the night.
Only the moon
will rise to claim the sky.

Only the moon
will brighten the black
background of space
and shine her light on us.
Only the moon
will watch over the land.

the Watcher Above

We shall draw from the heart of suffering itself the means of inspiration and survival.

Sir Winston Churchill

Out in the large, lush green forest
Up high on a tall tree, sits an owl at rest
From getting his broad beak from the hawk
That tired of always being hired to gawk
At the wolves that prowl the farmers fields-

Never blinking, even when wolves prowl
The farmers grounds to make him howl
In pain and loss, leaving a big scowl
On his face for they left the space
His sheep lived in; empty like space.

Since this owl took over, the farmers sheep yields
Have flourished for she watches without blinking.
And at the top of her voice hoots without thinking
To alert the farmer, wolves be here for the killing.
